This retreat will provide you with tools to manage negative thoughts, a space to be you and develop coping strategies for Anxiety and Depression. You will come away understanding your difficulties and have a clear plan to help you move forward with a feeling of newness and peace of mind as well as confidence in yourself and the tools you have gained.
Our participants say they experience connection and inspiration from likeminded people, who have been where they have before and understand. It will help you to not feel so alone with your struggles and will give you solutions for managing your mental health on a daily basis so you can function and feel like your 'old self' again.
All of this happens with the expert help of highly qualified psychotherapists and holistic therapists.

We show you how to manage your negative thoughts and develop techniques to overcome feelings of overwhelm and anxiety. Discover how Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness can reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. You will come away with evidence based techniques enabling you to feel happier within yourself. This will help you to become more positive in your relationships both with yourself and others. Vanessa also teaches you the brain science behind your thinking so you can understand why you feel the way you do and hence build techniques to support you to be more focused and in the moment. The retreat will bring you peace of mind, you will understand how to be calmer, reduce worry and anxiety and lift your mood

The retreat is run as a series of therapeutic and experiential workshops where you can understand your anxiety and depression and gain tools to manage your emotions and thoughts in a safe environment. We need to feel safe to heal and this is our absolute intention to provide this for our participants. Vanessa has 20 years of experience of running group therapy in mental health settings and is highly skilled in provided a safe therapeutic environment for their clients. You will come away feeling renewed, heard, listened to and validated.

These sessions aren't merely relaxing; they're restorative in every sense. Through deep relaxation and mindfulness techniques, you'll learn to truly connect with your body and navigate through challenging emotions, experiencing healing and renewal.

One to one sessions

1-1 sessions with a qualified and experienced counsellor or mental health coach

Whilst on the retreat you will have a one to one session with one of our qualified counsellors or mental health coaches. You will be matched to a therapist specific to what your needs are. This is an opportunity to talk through anything you do not feel comfortable to speak about in the group such as traumas, relationship difficulties, shame, hurt, pain management and anything else.

We provide 1-1 sessions prior to the retreat, on request, and for 3 months after the retreat if required.

The sessions pre and ongoing sessions can be held face to face (distance allowing), zoom or the telephone dependent on your preference.

Opportunity to connect with likeminded people and build support

A benefit of a retreat is the opportunity to connect with likeminded people. By sharing with others you can heal feelings of isolation and loneliness and come away with a sense of being heard and knowing that you are not alone.
Group sessions are facilitated by Vanessa Wallace and her team bringing a family feel to the whole retreat and safety to share and be open about your feelings.
You are not asked to share more than you feel comfortably able to and there is an opportunity for 1-1 session if you prefer to not share in a group.

Healthy and nourishing meals provided throughout the retreat

The evening meal is a nourishing meal cooked by our local chef, lunches will include a hot soup or healthy salads to nourish and prepare for the afternoon sessions. Breakfast with a range of grains, bread, spreads, fruits and juices will be available for you when you rise in the morning.

All food needs, preferences or allergies can be catered for by our Vegan Chef.

The next retreat of this format is in Northamptonshire.
Retreat starts at 10am on the 30th August and finishes at 5.30pm on the 1st September 2024.

We are offering 2 day retreats of this format (1-1 or small group) at Sedgebrook Hall, Northamptonshire, during July (multiple dates available). Yoga and massage are omitted from these 2 day retreats but a massage can be arranged at the venue.

Directions and Travel

By public transport, a unique and adventurous way is to get a train to Portsmouth Harbour and then a ferry across to Gosport (runs every 15 mins). Then is a 25 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride to 16 Bury Road.

Alternatively Fareham train station is also not too far (17 minutes by taxi).
