My life as a Miobe Nganga is to do Gods will in all facets of my life without contradiction. Only from here am I worthy to study and learn, under masters, the true tradition from the only unadulterated Bwete derived of the first nations Babongo. First I eat, sleep, work and therefore spiritualise my entire being to be as clean as possible in servitude, to ensure to those who are sick that there is a way out.
Miobe Nganga hold the complete knowledge of the forest and the psychological prowess required to diagnose the sick.

I have been initiated into the womans cult of OMBUDI. OMBUDI is not a brqnch of BWETE, it sits alongside and is inseparable from BWETE and its processes. You cannot have BWETE without OMBUDI in the true tradition. Kuma and I now stand united as the first couple in the west to practice and maintain these ancient rituals as they were originally intended. I was initiated at Mboka A Nzambe (The Universal Village of God) with the first nations people and the originators of this tradition, the Babongos. His Majesty Adumangana is initiated into both the mens (BWETE) and womens (OMBUDI) processes. He is my spiritual mother. The initiation I completed is MABANDZI.
At Mboka A Nzambe in Gabon
We have trained with the First Nations People, The Babongo, in one of the original branches of Bwete – called Miobe. Miobe is a healing branch and it is devoted to traditional medicines from the forest of which IIBOGA is one. Our Nganga Na Somba, Kuma Bwenze, is the only western man that has invited to be initiated with the Babongo people. The Iboga Ceremony we offer here at Ikara is called “Ghieno A Nziambe” which translates as God’s Mirror. From God’s mirror you can see and discover aspects of oneself and gain a new understanding of the creation of all
IBOGA´s healing capacities are universal. Become awareness in totality, without separation. Dissolve the illusions which causes dissension in your life.
The Nganga being a man of God must know and embody Bwiti, meaning he lives without the need to control. He relinquishes to the divine connection to God entirely. He does not live outside of the self in material image. He does not live in ego or material gratification that seeks accolade, approval, or affirmation from others to justify his position of self. His seat is in the self and only through this sovereignty can he be the voice of spirit, the letting go of that which is, this is the protection we experience with Nganga. Nganga achieves attachment to Spirits through rites and initiations. These Spirits he embodies, he becomes more of the self through these connections and these subsequent connections bring protection and spiritual accuracy to those healing.
Bwete is the reflection of God. It is not a system, it is whole and a spirituality in true vernacular. Spirituality being the only omnipresent representation one can experience.
Bwete is therefore life in all of its manifestations. It is our knowing of our action, our realisation and truth beyond thought which is fragmentary and exists in religiosity. Bwete is not bwiti. Selling Iboga is not Bwete. Living a material life in sin is not being a Nganga. Nothing in the west today is anywhere near worthy of appropriating Bwete. You cannot study Bwete, you live Bwete. It is not Iboga, it is not ceremony. To realise your wholeness which is your only correction, you need people living Bwete

Natural bug spray - although mosquitoes are not common at our retreat centre there do come on certain nights.
Toiletries - we do not supply single use toiletries at our retreat centre.
Our Retreat Centre is located in the southern zone of Costa Rica, we have the most magnificent views of the pacific ocean visible from all parts of the property. We have 180 degree ocean views. This vista brings a great sense of peace and calm to people. Being above the ocean but also in cool mountain air, we are ionized here.
The center is quiet and as a result we have regular animal visitors to the property. Everyday we see hummingbirds, Sloths, toucans, tolomuco, pezote, agouti, white faced capuchins, eagles and a wealth of frogs, amphibians, birds and lizards.
Our retreat centre has a purpose built yoga deck overlooking the ocean, a pool where you can sit and watch the capuchins in the tree above or listen to toucans while watching the sunset.

Making a change in your life for the better is such an important and exciting step and we look forward to helping you on your path. Each participant must fill out a questionnaire so that we can learn more about you and what you are looking to achieve with the Iboga Spirit.
Please ensure you disclose all information about your current and past medical history, honestly and openly. It will aid us greatly in your treatment. All your information will remain confidential. This is not a form to dissuade you from treatment so please be honest about all your medication/drugs/conditions so we can give you the best advice.
We source all locally grown organic produce from local farms. Our kitchen is vegetarian and our food is nutrient rich, Our water comes forth from a spring on our mountain range and is full of minerals.
We are protectors of ancestral knowledge, tradition and rituals. We work under the Ebota A Manghana NGO (Not for profit) and proceeds from each retreat go directly back to the traditional village Mboka A Nzambe as well as the 7 other Babongo villages they support in Dibois., Gabon. When you come to us, your money goes directly back to the originators of the Bwete Spirituality. There is no other retreat centre that offer this..
We are located in the beautiful lush subtropical jungle zone of Costa Rica. International travellers should book a flight to Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose. Travel time is 2.5hrs (130km) hours south of San Jose. We will provide an airport shuttle for guests attending this retreat.
If you prefer to self drive there is plenty of parking available at our retreat centre. A 4wd is recommended when renting a car in Costa Rica.
