Eden Rise is located two miles West of Totnes market town, situated in the tranquil Devon countryside. Managed by the Network of Wellbeing charity, the venue accommodates wellbeing-related residential retreats and workshops, hiring out the whole venue as well as facilitating their own events.
Compact and cosy, this tranquil property includes; two large bright workshop spaces that open out to the sunny back terrace, sleeping quarters located on either side of the barns with single (and a few small double) beds, two secluded bell tents from May-Sept, ample shower and toilet facilities, well equipped large ground floor kitchen/dining area opening onto the sheltered garden with fire pit, plenty of outdoor garden seating areas, on-site car park and a separate woodburning sauna facility.
Large workshop hall
The Albion Room is a bright large space suitable for your workshops, classes and events. The room opens out into the back terrace and has a small kitchenette on one side for making food and drinks. The large high beams give the hall character and airiness.
Extra sleeping space
The Hayloft Hall in the West barn is a workspace and lounge area leading out to the back terrace, with three double sofa beds and futon seating. This hall can be converted into a dorm room for three people, bathroom facilities are on the same floor.
Bell tents, twin rooms and sleeping pods
Eden Rise has the following accommodation spaces:
- Two secluded bell tents erected on our grassy terraces, with small double futon beds (unavailable from May-Sept).
- Two camping spaces from Nov-April
- One small single room with small double bed.
- Three twin rooms with single beds on the first floor.
- One room with four single beds on the ground floor, leading out to the courtyard garden.
- Dorm room with separate sleeping pods on the ground floor (two pods with twin beds and two pods with small double beds), with two terrace doors leading out to the courtyard garden.
We can host single occupancy sleeping accommodation for 12 people should you require.
Woodburning sauna
The separate sauna facility is a great way to relax after a longs days workshop, powered by an electric sauna and with the extra option to use a woodburner for extra heat (but not essential), with a large changing area and enclosed shower cubicle.
Unfortunately at present the building is unable to offer suitable wheelchair access.
We are constantly improving our green journey and have invested in this with the provision of the following: Our building runs on solar and green energy suppliers; Fresh filtered water is produced from our on-site borehole, it contains no chlorine or other additives; Hot water, a thermal eco-solar and electric system, provides a regular supply to meet everyone’s needs; Underfloor heating is installed throughout the building; Solar panels produce electricity for the grid; Sustainable products are used for housekeeping; Recycling collection points are onsite and we Compost all our food waste and garden material.
We will continue to monitor our energy and water usage, purchase of consumables, research and learn about environmental problems and ways we can help solve them.
Eden Rise is open for hire throughout the year for residential stays, bookings start from 5pm on your arrival day and end at 5pm on your last day. Organisers/Facilitators and their teams are permitted to arrive at 4pm to set up before their group arrives (if pre-arranged).

2025 WORKSHOP RATES: 2N (midweek Mon-Wed) - £605 (£25pppn) / 2N (limited weekends Dec-Mar) - £885 (£30pppn) / 3N - £1150 (£28pppn) / 4N £1,465 (£26pppn) / 5N - £1,675 (£24pppn) / 6N - £1,875 (£23pppn) / 7N - £2,140 (£22pppn).
Prices are based on the basic cost for 10pax. Reduced charity rates available.
By Car
Located just off the Plymouth Road about 2 miles outside of Totnes town centre as you head to Avonwick and Plymouth direction. Take the Plymouth Road heading out of Totnes for 2miles then you will see a small sign saying Sandwell, turn left here. Eden Rise is the second drive on the right, its a steep road up to the barns.
In front of building there are spaces for 8-10 small vehicles, we encouraged guests to co-ordinate lift shares whenever possible.
Public Transport
Totnes is the closest train and coach station, 8 minutes drive away. There are no public buses directly to the venue though taxis are available.
Nearest airport
The nearest international airport is Exeter, a 40 minute drive away.
